The Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) was represented by a 30-year old identity that was in real need of a refresh to better reflect the country’s ambitions, the Committee’s new direction and young athletes’ aspirations of success in Olympic sports. Our team appreciated that the new identity had to be relevant to the new BOC while being both relevant locally, and understood and respected globally. The task was therefore not simply to create a new logo, but rather to create a new perception of an engaging 21st Century sporting brand.
A government entity, the BOC needed to update itself in light of new consumer trends and ensure it was relevant to its audiences while building interest in its Olympic plans.
We researched over 200 national olympic committees worldwide and analysed Bahrain’s Olympic heritage, using our data and insights to set the new identity’s creative direction. We needed to ensure the new identity connected past, present and future in a timeless manner, and our creative direction did just that while also openly embracing the Olympic flame. Our team then rolled out the new brand across all touchpoints, enhancing the brand experience while increasing the brand’s exposure through a creative nationwide launch campaign that was accompanied by a calendar of engaging activities.
In addition to brand and campaign development, we designed athlete uniforms, new merchandise and so much more!
